17 THINGS I PACK FOR HVAR

August 7, 2018

– Anzeige / Ad – Post contains adlinks – Not sponsored –Packing can either be super fun or it can be a complete mess, for me it normally takes forever to pack, I start taking out my things, put them all over the apartment and can’t decide what to bring. Most of the times I bring way to much and hardly use 70% of what I bring, but with time I got much better at organising, I bring much less, knowing I will probably re-use my favourite dresses, I will not read three books, I’ll hardly finish one and I really do not need all those big sweaters I bring in case it gets a bit chilly.

Today I’m packing for our trip to Hvar tomorrow and while packing I thought it would be fun to make a post with some new and old pieces I’m bringing with me, so here it is – 17 things I bring in my suitcase to Hvar, Croatia.

First off sun protection! I’m so much more careful in the sun now than ever and never leave the house without 50spf in my face and 30spf on my body. Ok I’m not so good at putting sunscreen on my body when I’m in the city, but these days with all the sun and heat wave in Europe we’re all walking around practically naked to survive so it’s important to protect the rest of our body as well.

I got these sunscreens recently and absolutely love them. Love Wave spf 30 for the body, it’s light weight and really easy to cream on. My favourite lpkn spf 50 for the face, it smells like apple and leaves the face soft, smooth and primed, it works really well under make up but also alone, I’m obsessed with this one right now! Lastly comes the Supergoop! spf 50 face mist which is a literal life saver, it is a mist spray so very easy to “touch up” the protection whenever you feel you need to put more but for example already wear make up and don’t want to mess it up by putting on cream. I spray it in my face several times per day, its transparent and smells fresh and minty!

You will never see me on the beach or chilling in the sun without a hat, I am super sensitive to the sun and feel dizzy if I sit getting blinded and overheated, I need a hat to survive the summer, as simple as that. This raffia hat I brought from Mallorca and it’s from Zara Home, perfect to cover my eyes and a the best accessory for photos! <3 (It’s unfortunately not available anymore but check more down for another hat)

Obsessed with beach towels which are the perfect accessories for anything (just like hats) you can hang them on the walls, cover chairs, bring to the beach or even use as a roof which we did when we camped in Portugal. This beach towel with pom-poms is from the pom-pom queen Mums handmade and is just the cutest of the cutest.

In the evenings when I don’t want to carry around big beach baskets I got this little fringe bag from Mango, I haven’t been to Hvar yet but I have a feeling it’s a perfect “evening Hvar bag” ;P

Now some more beauty – first off I’ve just started using these products so not sure how well they perform but bringing them with me to try them out more. First the magic oil from the Korean skin-care brand Huxley, it’s called Secret of Sahara and is an oil for the face, in Croatia I’m not planning on wearing much make up and focusing on keeping the skin healthy and protected instead, this oil leaves skin smooth and fresh all day long. Let’s see how it goes!

I also bring the Herbivore after sun mist with Aloe vera which minimises inflammation and soothes skin burn after a long day in the sun, it cools down and feels fresh. Lastly we have the Ouai wave spray which I spray in the hair after towel drying my hair for some extra waves and texture, a little beach waves you know. My hair is very straight and if I don’t curl it it hangs down, with this spray the hair gets more texture and on vacation I want to spend as little time as possible in front of the mirror getting ready.

This is the second hat I’m bringing,it’s from Lack of Color and called the Sunnydip Fray Boater, I got it yesterday and I’m very very excited to wear this hat!

This time I only pack one book, not three, and right now I’m reading the Hypnotist by the Swedish writing duo under the name Kepler, I borrowed it from a friend and it is so so intriguing! Love crimes novels!

I’m bringing clothes as well! This wrap ruffled playsuit is from Rebecca Vallance via Net-a-Porter, I love the navy colour and looking forward to wear it in the evening, in old town or by the beach <3 I bring some other beautiful pieces with me but I’ll wait to show you until we’re there :)

This is definitely the most exciting! You know Klemens and I got engaged but we are so terrible at planning and haven’t even decided our wedding date yet, so in Mallorca my mum gave us these two little notebooks with our initials on and told us it’s for our wedding planning. Now we are super exciting and will start writing up our ideas and plans, now we really have to decide the date and make this happen <3 So exciting!

I’ve got some bikinis in my swimsuit too, this green swimsuit from H&M, could only find it in yellow online, I actually wanted it but they didn’t have my size, but love the green too! Been wearing so much yellow lately maybe it’s about time to try something else. The bikini is from Australian label Peony,  they have amazing pieces…Australians are just the best at making swimwear, I’ve had this one for a while now, love the colour and the simple design.

And last but not least, of course I wouldn’t go anywhere without my beloved Dirty Grey’s <3 These ones specially from our Mikuta x Dirty Grey limited collection, will wear them with most my looks – day and night!

So that is about it, counting in my bangles which I always wear these are 17 things I bring with me to Hvar! Hope you enjoyed this post, trying to make something new from time to time :)

Lots of love xx Mikuta
