Hello loves! I hope you’re all having a great Friday! We definitely are, but being on vacation feels like Friday every day! We thought we’d make a blogpost from every destination on our 3 weeks trip, so here is the first one!
When we first arrived to Phuket after a long flight with stopover in Doha we were really tired, we slept a bit on the plane but I couldn’t resist watching all the amazing premiers they had on the flight! Anyways, when we arrived we were in shock from the super humid heat, plus all the tourists, who like us, had no idea where to go or how to go. After lots of questions and misunderstandings we finally got someone to help us. We wanted to go to Koh Yao Noi directly but since we arrived late in the evening, no ferries went, so we had to stay one night in Phuket. First we thought about going down to Patong, but they all told us it was way too far and that we should just stay the night close to the pier where the ferries left, there were supposed to be guesthouses and restaurants around and no problem to find a place to stay.
We took a taxi and we sat in that taxi for almost 2 hours, driving pass almost the whole east side of Phuket trying to find a place, there were no lights and everything seemed completely dead. In the end we stopped with the taxi somewhere where the taxi driver called some numbers and finally we got a place! We had to pay quite a lot, but it was ok, and we just wanted to get out of the car! Close to the little house we stayed was a 7eleven, so we got a Singha each, mosquito spray and cockroach spray, I am extremely scared of those little brown monsters!
So, after a good night sleep we took a car down to the pier, jumped on a ferry and finally started our little island hopping! First stop was Koh Yao Noi, which is an island just between Phuket and Krabi. We heard from a friend that this was a very calm island with very little tourists so we needed to check it out! The speedboat trip was scary at first, but ended up being very fun, its crazy how fast they go! As soon as we arrived we jumped on a little taxi where we sat very unsafe in the back with another guy from France and started our search for a place to stay. Same as the night before we visited every little place on the 3 different beaches with no luck, no room for us, but in the end, when I almost, AGAIN, wanted to give up, the last resort told us that they had one little bungalow for us, the cheapest (which was perfect for us) where we could stay as long as we wanted… no body seemed to want this house but it is so cute! I sprayed with my killer spray all over and now the house is safer than ever!
Anyways, enough about bungalow search and back to the Island… Koh Yao Noi was exactly what we expected, I don’t think we’ve seen more than 30 tourists around the area where we are staying (which is kind of weird since everything is supposed to be booked out), we are staying at the Pasai beach by the way, and we have the beach all to ourselves, I think everyone goes on boat trips during the days, or scooter trips! We decided to just chill here, shoot photos, drink fruit shakes, play games and eat lots of thai food, we will do boat trips and explore later on our trip. The beaches here are not as nice as on the other islands, I’ve heard about it and I also know it since I’ve visited the islands several times before. But it is still beautiful like a paradise and I just love it because it is so empty, although it is quite boring that everyone goes to sleep around 9, but it’s ok, better to wake up early and have a long day since the sun goes down around 6.30 pm here.
As a conclusion, we both really liked this place and we don’t want to leave, but tomorrow we are taking our backpacks and jumping on a ferry to the next place, which will probably be Railay beach! Let’s see what happens there, it’s so fun travelling around, don’t want to go home! :P
Lots of kisses from both of us! xx
