DARK & COZY IN ZHERO HOTEL – AUSTRIA

February 17, 2017

In the beginning of the month Klemens and I felt the urge for some snow and some ski time, so we looked around for some great ski places and nice hotels and found Zhero hotel which is situated between Ischgl and Kappl in Austria. I’ve heard of Zhero before because they have another hotel and a beach-club in Mallorca as well, so we booked some days in their dark and moody hotel right by the snowy mountains.

Right when you enter the hotel you feel this amazing scent, a mix of fire and dark vanilla, everything is cozy, dark, spacious with sofas, beautiful decoration and open fires a little bit of everywhere. We stayed in the Minotti penthouse suite on the top of the building with a view over the mountains. There is a big terrace that goes all around the roof so you can see the view from every corner. Even our suite had a fire place which we lit up in the evenings for some extra coziness.

The hotel is a five minutes drive from Ischgl where you ski and where all the restaurants and shops are, but with their free shuttle it is no problem to get where you want to go. The shuttle is going from morning until 11.30pm and you just have to call them to pick you up when you want to go back to the hotel.

In the mornings we woke up in between the fluffiest duvet covers and went down to the breakfast buffet where they have absolutely everything! We ordered our yummy and freshly made scrambled eggs, picked our favourite muesli and drank latte macchiatos until we were ready for skiing and snowboarding. The hotel has a ski-rental so you can rent them there directly, put on your boots and go directly with the shuttle, so you don’t need to bring your shoes anywhere which was such a relief. After ski and apres-ski in Ischgl we went back to Zhero hotel and had some drinks and sometimes dinner in their dinner area and bar with a live singer, lots of candles and enjoyed our drinks watching all their cool fashion artworks on their walls.

Oh and not to forget their Spa and pool area which we used almost every single evening, a dip in the pool and a siesta on their fluffy beds was the highlight of the day, I didn’t want to leave it. Even there is a fire place!

Another really nice experience we had there was the torch-walk in the evening organised by the owner and together with other guests, they do this once a week. As soon as it got dark, we all got a torch each and walked up the mountain, after half an hour we arrived to a little wooden house where we were served Glühwein, cheese, ham and hot bread while watching the beautiful view of the lit up houses underneath and telling stories. This was really amazing and a great memory!

We really fell in love with this place, so if you’re looking for a really cozy, warm, hip place and with friendly staff just by the snow – this is the place!

Lots of love xx Mikuta + Klemens
