FIRST MORNING IN THE NEW APARTMENT

Good morning from the first morning in our new apartment <3 Now this was yesterday and not today, but anyways! Thank you so much for all the best wishes and beautiful messages we received the last days, we couldn’t be happier right now with our new place. It is definitely a special feeling to have your own place because it feels like our little baby, or well, big baby haha! The first day there was so beautiful, we walked around, stood there, watched it, went up and down and were just so happy. The feeling and the energy is so great and it feels just right! Can’t wait to spend our time there <3 It feels weird to own a little part of Berlin now, a little spot on the map that is just ours!

We blew up our air mattress, got some pizza and opened our bottle of Moet that we’ve been saving for this day and spent our first night there. Everyone told us to write up our dreams from the first night but I really couldn’t remember it, when I woke up I tried to fall back asleep to remember it but it didn’t work, and to be honest I didn’t sleep much. The air mattress was incredibly uncomfortable and since we slept in the kitchen/living room area and had all the windows and doors open (it must have been the hottest night ever, 34 degrees during the day and the night didn’t feel much colder) it was so loud from the street below and every time the tram passed by it was like a big airplane arriving, haha! Luckily our bedroom is on the other side so we won’t need to listen to that! During the day it’s all fine but at night the rest of the noise is gone and the tram comes across very loud! It was still a beautiful night though, and in the morning the sunlight came in at 7am and lit up the floors in the most beautiful way, Klemens went down to get some coffee which we drank on the balcony sitting on two trash buckets that we found upstairs… we also found a fridge which we didn’t know was there, yey!

Now it’s time to start planning. We have ideas of how we want it to be and luckily share the same ideas, the look and the feel and the colours are all set, but only in our heads as a vision, now we need to write them down and figure out the details and how to get started! We will try to do most by ourselves, but need help from specialists when it comes to very important things so we don’t screw it up. But mainly we will take down some walls, change the kitchen, the two bathrooms, change the stairs, fix the floor so it’s not so orange because when the sunlight gets reflected by the orange floor everything in the apartment becomes orange, which is not so ideal! After that it’s time to decorate and turn it into a living place, exciting!
