Mykonos Theoxenia

August 23, 2016

Hello loves! The blog has been a bit quiet the last two weeks because Klemens and I went travelling, and as much as we wanted to blog it was hard enough to upload five pics on Instagram plus shoot and of course discover the places we visited! But now we are back in Berlin and have lots of yummy photo-bombs for you guys!

During the last week we went to both Venice and Mykonos but we will start with the beautiful blue and white Greek island! While being there we stayed at Mykonos Theoxenia which is a boutique hotel located just beside the town which apart from the amazing interior and staff, it was one of the highlights of this place. Since there are not so many taxis in Mykonos (only 30 we heard!!) it is great to stay in a place close to town so you have the possibility to move around by yourself. Although most hotels have drivers, it is still easier to just walk by yourself. It is also just beside the beach so you can just walk down if you feel like dipping in salt water :)

Apart from the perfect location, I also fell in love with their 60’s retro interior, as you can see on the photos they have a lot of pops of colours such as pink, blue and yellow in cute statues, matts, chairs, lamps etc etc. I fell in love with one specific matt which I wanted to bring with me home!

While staying there we took advantage of their pool area where we chilled in our sunbeds with a cold frappe or in the afternoons to be more cozy we laid down in their “big sun-beds”. They have a little bar outside which they call Breeze-out with a waiter serving your drinks or food which makes it so easy to relax and enjoy the holiday! They even came to clean our sunglasses, how cool is that? I have to admit that Klemens and I were mostly shooting and can’t really relax while on our trips, but I managed to convince him to enjoy it as well and we got some hours to just relax in the end :) I really liked that they were playing chill-out music in the pool area, or actually everywhere, it gave a special little vacation feeling.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I LOVE breakfast, specially good hotel breakfast which has a bit of everything, different cereals and muesli, wide selection of cheese, all kinds of bread, juices, pancakes, fruits, ham, egg, bacon – well, everything you can imagine. Mykonos Theoxenia has all of that and more, all the cakes and my favourite “Hazelnut praline cream”. They also served a lot of Greek food like greek yoghurt, feta cheese, sesame biscuits and lots of other things. The breakfast serves from 7am until 11.30am so there is lots of time to enjoy on their terrace with your own bottles of freshly squeezed orange juice.

Not only do they serve breakfast, they also serve lunch, dinner and cocktails. We didn’t get the chance to eat lunch or dinner because we went into the town at those hours, but I checked their menu and it looked very good with affordable prices. In the evenings when we came back from our adventures on the island we enjoyed some of their special cocktails in their retro Breeze-bar and they were so good!

Now I will let the pictures speak for themselves. But as a conclusion we were very happy with this place, the staff was very friendly, helpful and of course the rooms were great with balcony, air-condition, minibar and everything you need!

Lots of love xx

I love your silver stacked bangles! I’ve been looking for similar. Where are they from? They look like they don’t “clink”!

I follow you from not so long ago but I personally love your style, both in the way you take the pictures (meaning the the final effect of course) as also as in the fashion choices you make. Good job! I think I have to learn a lot from you guys. What is more, from each trip to another I am super excited that I can see more and more of the beautiful world. Hope future will bring more trips for me but for now I want to thank you for all the inspiring views! Can’t wait to see more!
If I have one qustion out of the topic: can you tell me where can I find that beutiful white swimsuit? If not – it is not a problem :) Still is really nice and flattering at the same time I have to say.
Once again thank you and wish you all best! Do not change :)
