It’s almost February, which means that Valentines day is almost here – the day of love that most people in relationships are excited for! Even though we are supposed to share our love every day it is fun to have a special day to go on special dates – just like anniversaries, but with Valentines you can celebrate twice :)

Since Valentine’s coming up we thought to share our love story, how Klemens and I met and how we became a couple!

Three years ago I (Jacqueline) packed my bags in Barcelona, where I used to live before to move to Berlin. I wanted to get to know this new and exciting city and get into new adventures! Before moving, I searched for a place to live and a friend of mine suggested me to rent a room at his friends place – that friend of my friend was Klemens! Klemens and I had some conversations on Facebook before I arrived in Berlin and when we finally met for the first time, I have to admit, I thought he was really cute!  :)

That is basically how we met, we became flatmates! We got to know each other more and more every day, we had coffee dates in our kitchen, he helped me learning German by reading German kids stories together, he showed me his favourite places, presented me to his friends, we went to markets, had sushi, I showed him my favourite movies and we visited Istanbul. This was an extremely exciting phase, he sometimes was very nervous and so was I – I think we both felt something for each other but since we were (and still are) flatmates it was very scary – what if something went wrong? After some time we just couldn’t resist each other anymore, we kissed and are a couple ever since!

He was everything that I wasn’t: He was organised (too organised), I was messy – he told me he thought that was cute about me and it taught him how to “take it easy” sometimes. He was calm, I was mostly stressed, I really love that calm side about him – it makes me feel secure. I feel we both are the perfect match, a great balance for each other. We have similar visions in life and for our future together, so we never had any discussions or problems in that matter (so far :P).

For us work and private life go hand in hand with each other, which works great – none of us would ever say: “You never have time for me, only for your job!” By dedicating time to our job, that combines a great number of both our passions, we dedicate time to each other in a way. Thus we sometimes end up working too much and don’t have time to just “be” together – both our dream for the near future is to travel more together, disconnect from “normal life”, gather fresh inspiration and most important spend more quality time together because this is what really matters in any relationship.

Now the fun part for you guys!
