STAR NAILS ATTEMPT

November 21, 2018

– Anzeige/ad – Brands mentioned –Hello loves, I hope you’re great <3 Here’s a different post from all my outfit and travel posts, but I thought it could be fun with something different. The other day I did some questions on my Instagram stories of what you guys would like to see more on my feed and on the blog. I got so many ideas and got really excited :) One of them was to post more beauty, cosmetics and real life stuff, so today while I was waiting for a delivery at home I decided to do my nails and show you step by step.

Last week I saw these AMAZING star nails on Pinterest and I haven’t stopped thinking about them since. I always do shellac in nail saloons because the nail polish stays so long, I tend to drag off the nail polish whenever I get nervous so when I have shellac it is almost impossible. I wanted to fix the nails again before we go to Ireland tomorrow but then I thought I’d just do it myself!

First I fixed the nails with filing, some cuticle cream from Sally Hansen and put on a base coat from Essie.

Before starting I had to do the stars! I drew stars on small plastic sheets and cut them out with nail scissors. This was incredibly hard, specially with the small one but I was so happy that I managed to do them quite well :)After the base coat I put on this light beige/grey nail polish from Catrice, I love their nail polishes, they really cover well and stay long! I did two coats.

After that everything went south! After I let the nail polish dry for a long time to not get any scratches from the plastic sheets I tried to do the first star and it was absolutely impossible… since the plastic sheets were so hard they didn’t hold onto the nail and all the nail polish just spread out unevenly and you couldn’t even see that it was a star :(

I got really annoyed and thought I wasted my time making my nails beige first of all (I never wear light colours on my nails but thought it would be nice with the stars), I had also been taking all these photos for the blogpost and it didn’t even work.

But then I found these! Some nail art stickers that I got many years ago and were laying in my make-up box! :) I put some stickers here and there and put on a top coat. And voilà! The nails didn’t turn out that terrible in the end! I specially like the flash <3

For next time I have to find nice star stickers, so much easier than with a sheet!

Now time to pack the rest for tomorrow! Lots of love xx Mikuta
